1978 Company is founded. Has grown to become the nation’s leading direct marketer of women’s wigs and hair pieces.
1980 Company is incorporated as Wigs by Paula.
1986 Relocates to a 44,000 square foot facility in South Easton, MA.
1993 Launches Especially Yours, a catalog featuring high quality wigs, hair pieces and apparel for African-American women.
1996 The company goes public on NASDAQ. Stock symbol: CTLG.
1997 Relocates Distribution Center to a new 50,000 square foot facility in Brockton, MA.
1999 Launches websites for Paula Young, Especially Yours and Western Schools.
2001 Major shareholders take the company private.
2003 Launches Heart of Gold – an addition to its wholesale wig division.
2006

Launches our finest wig collection ever, Couture Wigs.

Relocates headquarters and U.S. distribution to a 128,000 square foot facility in West Bridgewater, MA.

Western Schools launches a Behavioral Health Continuing Education business in the U.S.

Daxbourne International began selling hair fashions on one of the largest home shopping networks in the U.K., Ideal TV.

   
 

SC Corporation of Stamford, CT acquires Company, merges to form Paula Young.

Paula Young expands to the Canadian market.

The company also acquires Western Schools, a home study continuing education catalog for nurses.

1989

Adds a wholesale wig division called Salon Silhouettes, which markets wigs and hair pieces to salons and other retailers.

Acquires Daxbourne International Limited, a leading retailer and wholesaler of women’s wigs, hair pieces and related products in the United Kingdom.

1998

Acquired by Edgestone Capital Partners.

Launches website WigShop.com.
